12 bodies found in stolen pickup truck in Mexico’s ‘Hot Land’

MEXICO CITY – Mexican authorities said on Saturday they were investigating the deaths of 12 men whose bodies were found with gunshot wounds in a stolen truck left in the violent western state of Michoacan.

Cartels collide over territory in the region known as Tierra Caliente, Spanish for ‘Hot Land,’ which includes some parts of the states of the neighboring states of Michoacan, Guerrero, and the state of Mexico.

The state attorney general Michoacan said in a statement that the men, who have not yet been identified, were found in the San Lucas congregation to border the three states.
