Arapahoe Basin Ski Area opens its slopes on Wednesday for some spring skiing.
On Sunday, Summit County announced that the Colorado Department of Health and the Environment has granted a derogation from state protection for safer homes, which allows skiing at A-Basin. But there are several caveats.
First, skiers will need a reservation because access will be limited and they will need to wear a mask in certain areas where six-foot social distance cannot be maintained.
In addition, tailgating is not allowed. On her website, A-Basin warns: “Staff will actively monitor parking lots to ensure that all state, provincial and corporate mandates are met. There are no exceptions. ‘
Elevators operate between 8:30 AM and 3 PM from May 27, and uphill access is permitted between 4 PM and 8 AM
