USC added its Pac-12 leading recruiting class on Friday with the addition of a local prospect.
Bishop Alemany’s attacking lineman, Saia Mapakaitolo, committed to the Trojans to kick off the weekend with a note on Twitter thanking his family and coaches for helping them reach this moment.
“I want to thank my family for showing me what is real like my parents, for teaching me to always be humble no matter what and for all the sacrifices they made for me,” Mapakaitolo wrote.
A 6-foot-5,280-pound prospect, Mapakaitolo is a three-star recruit, according to the curated rankings of 247Sports.com. He chose USC over offers from Oregon State, Utah, and Washington State.
Now with 13 commits in its 2021 class, USC remains number 1 in the Pac-12, according to 247Sports.com, and number 5 nationally.
