Angels’ Mike Trout wins another Silver Slugger award – Press Enterprise

As is his annual tradition, Mike Trout won an American League Silver Slugger Award on Thursday.

Honored as one of the three best offensive outfielders in the American League, Trout has won the Silver Slugger eight times, which equaled an Angels record.

Trout, 29, is the first player to win eight Silver Sluggers by his age-28 season. He is one of just five players to win eight Silver Sluggers in the American League, joining Alex Rodriguez, Manny Ramirez, Cal Ripken Jr. and Wade Boggs.

Trout hit .281 with 17 home runs and a .993 OPS this season.
