Another monolith has been spotted on California’s central coast.
The approximately 3-meter-high stainless steel statue is not the first of its kind to be discovered in recent weeks, at least two more have been seen in Utah and Romania.
As mysterious as the previous two buildings, it is unclear who placed the three-sided object at the top of the Pine Mountain Loop hiking trail in Atascadero, California.
According to The Atascadero news, the obelisk was spotted Wednesday morning, attracting dozens of local hikers.
The structure appears to be made of stainless steel and was not attached to the ground, the local newspaper reported.
For the past week, similar mysterious metal sculptures have made headlines around the world.
The one in Utah, first seen on Nov. 18, disappeared earlier this week.
It was apparently demolished on Monday by a group of men who viewed it as ‘trash’, according to a photographer who documented the object’s demise at Instagram.

On Tuesday, the monolith also disappeared in the mountainous province of Neamt in Romania, four days after its appearance.
