A four-month-old baby is in a critical condition in the hospital after being injured.
On Thursday evening (December 3), Lancashire police were informed by the North West Ambulance Service that a four-month-old girl had been found seriously injured in Blackpool.
They were called to premises on Onslow Road, Layton, around 6:00 PM.
The baby was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital and later transferred to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, where she is still in critical condition.
Jordan Lee, 28, of Onslow Road, Blackpool, was initially arrested on suspicion of GBH and has now been charged.
Lee was charged with attempted murder and appeared in Preston court on Saturday, police said.
He has been remanded into custody.
Detective Chief Superintendent Eric Halford of Blackpool Police said: “First, my thoughts are with the baby girl’s loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.
“She remains in hospital in a critical condition and her family is supported by specially trained agents.
“While a man has been charged, our investigation is still ongoing and I would ask anyone with information or anyone who has seen or heard anything suspicious in the area around that time to contact the police.”
Anyone with information should call the police on 101, quoting 1135 by December 3, 2020.
