Former Vice President Joe Biden officially endorsed the nomination for the Democratic Presidential presidential election on Friday, the media reported, paving the way for a challenge for President Donald Trump in the November election.
The Associated Press and CBS News both predicted that Biden has passed the 1,991 delegates he needs to be elected as a nominee to the party’s national convention, with matches yet to come in eight states and three US territories.
Biden won deputies after seven states, and the District of Columbia held presidential primaries on Tuesday.
“It was an honor to be part of one of the most talented groups of candidates the Democratic party has ever delegated – and I can proudly say that we are entering this United Elections as a unified party,” Biden said in a statement.
“I’m going to fight every day between now and November 3 to earn the votes of Americans in this amazing country, so that together we can win the battle for the soul of this nation and help rebuild our economy, everyone come along ”, he said.
