strongly supported Donald Trump’s re-election, largely on the basis of his accomplishments in national security affairs. Either way, Trump is a disruptive force and U.S. foreign policy was set to be disrupted in 2016.

In the two decades leading up to Trump’s appointment as President, the foreign policy establishment produced a series of catastrophic mistakes that reduced the United States from a nation to a position of security and strength. unmatched to a nation beset by threats it was largely unprepared to face.
