A seven-year-old boy has been rescued after a gruesome alleged kidnapping when the boy was spotted on the dark web.
The Savely Rogovtsev was feared murdered when he disappeared from his Russian home.
But thanks to western intelligence web sleuths, Savely has been reunited with his overjoyed parents after his “miracle” discovery.
Russian police had been tipped off by Interpol that a dark web site revealed that the boy was with his kidnapper some 14 miles from his home, where he went missing in late September.
The source of the tip is believed to be an unnamed foreign intelligence agency searching hidden areas of the Internet used by criminals.
Police have now detained a 26-year-old man who allegedly bundled Savely into a car, but has so far disclosed no details about his identity.
The child is now receiving “strong psychological help,” it was revealed.
After Savely disappeared, a massive search involving police, army and volunteers failed to find him.
The boy’s 47-year-old father, Alexander Rogovtsev, told REN TV: “He was very happy to see his mother.
He hugged and kissed her.
“We are overwhelmed with feelings …
“It’s an explosion of emotion and relief that the ordeal is over. Finally he has been found. “
He added, “We just left the doctors and he’s healthy, he hasn’t lost weight.
‘He’s a normal kid. He threw himself around our necks, sat on our lap, a happy child.
“We always thought we would find him.”
Savely disappeared after getting off his school bus in the village of Gorky, Vladimir region.
Alexander added, “My son said the man pushed him into his car.
‘He’s already stuck. We don’t know where he kept our son. “
Regional Ombudsman for Children Gennady Prokhorichev said: “This is a miracle. Thank goodness it’s a story with a happy ending. “
He admonished the parents for not escorting the boy to and from the school bus and added, “This is a lesson for all of us.”
Savely, the youngest of four children, now needs “strong psychological help,” he said.
“For a month and a half he was held for some reason by a man in a strange house – he was separated from his family.
‘Now we have to work with the child. He needs the love of his family. “
Colonel Irina Volk, of Russia’s Interior Ministry, said the tip about the boy had been received “from foreign colleagues through Interpol channels.”
The boy’s whereabouts had become apparent from “publications in the shadow segment of the Internet,” she said.
He was found in the village of Makarikha, also in the Vladimir region.
The 26-year-old man was “detained on suspicion of kidnapping” by police with military support from the Russian National Guard.
“The wanted boy was found in his private home,” she said.
