A five-year-old boy was viciously attacked by a pack of dogs, ripping off his scalp and ear as he walked home from a candy store.
Traumatized Mickele Allen was brutally torn apart by six pit bulls in Jamaica.
The terrifying incident took place on Nov. 22 when it was discovered that he was covered in blood and his flesh was exposed.
Mickele’s brothers rushed to where he was still being attacked by one of the dogs.
The young boy was flown to New York City for treatment after benefactors raised £ 185,000 ($ 250,000).
Surgeons fought to reconstruct his face, said Dr. Evan Garfein, chief of plastic surgery at Montefiore: “He was attacked by six pit bulls on his way home from the candy store.
‘He lost a lot of blood. He was found by his brother while the dogs were still attacking him. ‘
Dr. Garfein had come across the fundraiser and said he wanted to help the poor boy, reports The Sun Online.
He said, “He had about 50 to 60 percent of his scalp ripped off.
“Most of his forehead, his left ear, part of his left cheek, serious injuries to both arms and both legs.”
Shereen Antoinette Grindley, Mickele’s mother, said the five-year-old made a good recovery.
She told ABC13, “I saw him this morning.
“He recovers very quickly, he eats, he talks, he’s just great, great. I’m so overwhelmed.”
“I am so happy where he comes from and where he is now.
“I just want to thank you, thank you, thank you very much.”
Speaking of the doctors and those who donated, she said, “I just want to say thank you, thank you, thank you very much.”
