Bradley Walsh and The Chase viewers astounded after contestant makes shocking confession

The Chase viewers were left astounded this evening (Friday) after a contestant made a shocking confession.

Even host Bradley Walsh was left baffled when Andrew, a 37-year-old philosophy teacher from Northumberland, admitted he had never heard of a famous British and Hollywood actor.

The latest instalment of the hit ITV quiz show saw contestant’s Andrew, Mali, Ben and Rosie face-off against Paul ‘the Sinnerman’ Sinha, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Andrew was up first but stumbled when confronted with a question about rap music lyrics, which is when he made his shocking confession – which you can watch in the video above.

Bradley asked Andrew: “In a 2019 hit song, who rapped the line ‘Man a big DJ, ask Meghan and Harry’?”

The optional answers to the question were Stormzy, Tinie Tempah or Idris Elba.

Andrew incorrectly selected Stormzy, before admitting he had never heard of Idris Elba.

A shocked Bradley asked: “You’ve never heard of Idris Elba?”

Idris Elba was the correct answer. The famous actor is also known as Dig Driis The Londoner and works as a DJ. Elba went on to DJ at Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018.

The Chase viewers were left equally as astounded by Andrew’s confession and flocked to social media to share their reactions.

“The man’s never heard of @idriselba! #TheChase,” @mr_johnny_mac exclaimed on Twitter.

“Did he just say he doesn’t know who Idris Elba is? #TheChase,” @KelleSWriter wrote.

“He’s never heard of Idris Elba! Get back under your rock Andrew. #TheChase,” @Andi000211 penned.
