Brandon Ingram signs max contract extension with Pelicans, AP source says

NEW ORLEANS – Restricted free agent Brandon Ingram has agreed to a $ 158 million five-year contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, a person familiar with the situation said.

The person spoke to the Associated Press on Tuesday on condition of anonymity because the contract has not been canceled

Ingram is the NBA’s reigning most improved player after averaging 23.8 points in his first season with the Pelicans.

23-year-old Ingram, a second overall draft pick of the Los Angeles Lakers in 2016, was traded to New Orleans during the off-season 2019 as part of a blockbuster trade that sent perennial All-Star Anthony Davis to the Lakers. New Orleans also hosted guards Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart, as well as multiple draft picks in that deal.
