Butlin's, Center Parcs and Haven set reopening dates

Holidays in England can restart in July after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced major changes to the lockdown rules.

Overnight stays will be allowed and social distancing will be cut to one metre meaning it is easier for venues to welcome people back.

The new rules allow for outside play areas, pubs, restaurants and cafe to reopen their doors meaning facilities at holiday venues can relaunch.

In the wake of the move Butlin’s, Center Parcs and Haven have revealed when they plan to open, reports The Mirror.

Haven

Haven caravan parks will reopen on July 6 in England.

Parks in Wales are set to open on 13 July and in Scotland from 17 July – but this is yet to be confirmed.

The chain is offering a discounted ‘Hideaway’ holiday that doesn’t include access to its pubs, restaurants and kids’ play areas, entertainment or activities.

But guests can enjoy the beaches, if they are open, and order takeaway food on site.

Under a cleanliness guarantee, guests will be offered a refund if the holiday home is not cleaned to the new enhanced standard.

Butlins

Butlins’ parks will reopen on 16 July.

The experience has been completely transformed – with parks now running drive-through check ins.

One day before arrival, you’ll be told which entrance to pick up your key from.

Hand sanitising stations will be spotted around the park, and capacity at entertainment shows will be reduced.

The fairground will be open, with riders asked to sanitise your hands between rides, and the capacity limited

Restaurants are set to reopen with the number of diners reduced to ensure social distancing can be followed.

Rooms will be sanitised and sealed between guests, and housekeeping won’t enter accommodation during your stay.

Centre Parcs

The popular holiday firm will reopen Longford Forest on July 13, after closing its doors on July 20.

In a statement on the website, the chain says it will reopen “in a way that meets government requirements and guidelines and always has your safety and the safety of our staff as our number one priority”.

Guests will have to follow social distancing rules and hand sanitiser will be made available throughout the parks.

Arrival and departure times have changed and guests will be asked to not use cash.

General areas are set to under enhanced cleaning and restaurant menus are set to be reduced in favour of takeaways.
