Chargers activate RB Austin Ekeler ahead of Sunday’s game vs. Bills

The Chargers will have their star run back to play against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Austin Ekeler was placed on the active 53-man roster, the Chargers announced on Saturday afternoon. He has not played since he injured his hamstring against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4.

The Chargers also saw off defensive end Jessie Lemonier and promoted nose tackle Extend Fehoko and linebackers BJ Bello and Cole Christiansen from the exhibition squad.

Ekeler returned to practice on Wednesday after the team appointed him to return from the injured reserve.

Ekeler has 49 porters this season for 248 yards and 17 catches for 144 yards. He received a four-year extension of $ 24.5 million in the off-season following his breakout in the 2019 season.
