A cute cat burglar is nabbed as it tries to make a break for it with a bundle of cash stolen from a Russian pub in a hilarious video.
The money was grabbed from the cash box at the USSR Beer Pub in the resort town of Anapa in the western Russian region of Krasnodar Krai by the kitten after it was adopted by the owner who found it in a box on the street.
CCTV images show the young cat trying not just once but twice to make off with a bundle of banknotes.
The owner of the pub, Nadezhda Vodolazskaya, 37, said that the first time the kitten tried to steal the money, it was noticed by one of the visitors who managed to grab the money back from the feline when it accidentally dropped it on the floor.
The pub owner said that the cat then tried again when none of the customers tried to step in and stop it making off with the cash.
In fact, some of the customers can be seen laughing, and that is because the joke is on the cat, as it turned out that the bundle it had stolen this time was actually made up of old USSR rubles which were kept on the shelves for decorative purposes.
Nadezhda said that the kitten was only a few months old and its name is Masyanya.
She said they had decided to adopt the kitten after finding it abandoned in a box on the street and the moggy was always getting into mischief.
Nadezhda said: “I’m not quite sure why the kitten is such a big fan of money but we’ll definitely keep an eye on her from now on and keep the cash box locked.”
