A couple have sparked fury for donning swastika face masks at a supermarket, in a viral video seen thousands of times.
The pair was seen paying at a checkout counter inside the Walmart store in Marshall, Minnesota, US, on Sunday.
Video shared on Facebook by a shopper shows the woman marching through the checkout aisle and giving fingers at other shoppers.
The man and woman are seen covering their faces with a piece of red cloth adorned with the giant Nazi symbol.
The woman protests and shouts: “If you’re voting for Biden, you’re going to be [living] in Nazi Germany.
“That’s what it’s going to be like.”
Raphaela Mueller, 24, tells them: “We literally had a f***ing war over this. The Nazis lost. Please don’t wear those masks.”
“You’re literally wearing a Nazi flag right now,” another shopper says.
The woman hits back and claims they are not Nazi.
She says: “I’m trying to tell you if you vote for Biden this is what you are going to have, socialism!”
Police were called to the scene and issued the 59-year-old man and the 64-year-old woman “trespass notices”, meaning they are not allowed in any Walmart facility for at least one year.
Walmart said in a statement: “What happened today at our store in Marshall, MN is unacceptable.
“We strive to provide a safe and comfortable shopping environment for all our customers and will not tolerate any form of discrimination or harassment in any aspect of our business.
“We are asking everyone to wear face coverings when they enter our stores for their safety and the safety of others and it’s unfortunate that some individuals have taken this pandemic as an opportunity to create a distressing situation for customers and associates in our store.”
