CSU men’s basketball pauses team activity due to COVID-19

The Colorado men’s basketball program was paused before it began.

Due to two positive COVID-19 tests within the program, the team will halt all activities until December 2, the school announced Friday evening. The two positive tests are the first for the program since players returned to campus in June, the school said in a press release.

CSU’s athletics division will work with the Mountain West Conference to explore how the 14-day hiatus affects the start of the 2020-21 basketball schedule.

Colorado State announced its Mountain West schedule for the 2020-21 season on Tuesday, with the Rams’ conference opener on December 3 in San Diego State. The first home game for the Rams will take place on December 28, when they play Fresno State at the Moby Arena.

The Rams already have a non-conference game on the calendar with a Rocky Mountain Showdown game against the Colorado Buffaloes on December 8 in Boulder.
