A disabled Doctor Who superfan cruises around in style – after creating a custom wheelchair modeled on Daleks maker Davros.
Andy Ingram, 52, built the unique chair after meeting Terry Molloy, who played the supervillain Davros, at MCM Comic Con.
He downloaded plans from the internet and started working with MDF and plywood.
Andy, from Benfleet, Essex, said: “I met Terry Molloy, the actor who played Davros at a Comic Con, and was thinking about building a Davros chariot.
“My wife worked on bumper cars when she was younger and helped me bring the two together.”
Andy’s design is made of MDF on the base and top. The sides are 1/8 “ply wood.
He said, “I downloaded a copy of Davros’s plans from www.projectdalek.com – while my wife did the heavy lifting.
“In the videos I see a test drive along the path past our house.
“Everyone loves it and a lot of people want one. I love it too and I like that it makes people laugh.”
