Dog missing for nearly three weeks turns up at supermarket where owner works

A loyal dog who had been missing for nearly three weeks was found incredible after he cleverly walked into the grocery store where her owner worked.

June Rountree’s four-year-old lab pit bull mix rescue dog Abby was missing for a total of 20 days after breaking free from her collar and escaping the yard where she was chained.

Mrs. Rountree and her husband searched their neighborhood every night for her and checked the local shelter, but to no avail.

She said she even started to lose hope that she would one day be reunited with her pup after being missing for so long.

But as she sat at her till on Nov. 28 at the Walmart in Dothan, Alabama, USA, she heard a commotion, looked up, and saw a dog in the store.

Customer service representative Danielle Robinette saw the dog and said it had looked at people “as if she were looking for someone”.

“I said, ‘It can’t be,'” Mrs. Rountree told the Washington Post. I called out her name and she came to me.

I leaned over and hugged her. I completely lost it then. I couldn’t talk. I was in shock and just couldn’t believe it. ”

No one knows exactly where Abby was for twenty days or what she was up to.

Ms. Rountree has worked at that Walmart for ten years, about 1.5 miles from their house and across two busy roads, and says she had walked Abby around but had never been to the store.

Ms. Robinette shared photos of the sweet reunion on Facebook and her post has been liked more than 7,200 times and shared more than 11,000 times to date.
