Driver fined after police see car strapped to back of trailer

A driver was fined after the police stopped them for carrying too heavy a load on a trailer for transporting a car.

West Yorkshire’s Roads Policing Unit stopped the trailer on the M606 near Bradford with a dark blue Renault car on its back.

Officers found that the trailer’s payload was 20 percent over its weight limit and had no current MOT. The load securing on the car was also considered inadequate.

A photo of the car shows two straps that seem to go through the door hinges of the engine, which sits incredibly on top of an already packed-looking load.

The unit instantly shared the offending vehicle and tweeted: “This vehicle caught my attention. It turned out to be 20% heavier, no current MOT and insufficient load security on the car.”

“Fines imposed and vehicle prohibited until secured.”

The force did not reveal how much the driver was fined.
