- The number of Ethereum addresses with one or more ETH has reached new highs.
- The metrics site Glassnode puts the number at 1,175,681.
- The number has increased this year – but has still not increased, as was the case with the 2017/2018 bull run.
The number of Ethereum addresses with at least one ETH (593 US dollars) has again reached an all-time high. Data released today Glassnode revealed that the number is now 1,175,681.
Why? Because the price of Ethereum has rose this year and Mania about the asset increases. It’s also the platform most decentralized financial products are built on – and 2020 was DeFi’s year.
The number of Ethereum addresses with at least one ETH has increased slowly this year.
In January the number was 972,924. Until June when DeFi was well and really explodeit had exceeded 1 million.
Over the past six months, the number of wallets with 1 ETH or more has increased by more than 12%.
That might not sound like a lot, but it shows that interest in the second largest cryptocurrency by market cap is growing – and that we are really in a bull market.
Even so, we are not quite as far as in 2017, when the price of ETH reached an all-time high of $ 1,300. Back then, wallets with an ETH or greater rose over 1000% in 12 months.
Currently, the price of ETH is at $ 594, an increase of 9.5% over the past week, according to data from CoinMarketCap. The price of Ethereum has risen sharply since Bitcoin, the largest coin by market capitalization, started rising in October.
Bitcoin this week topped its all-time high of around $ 19,500 set in 2017 to a few hundred dollars. Bitcoin is priced at $ 19,115 as of this writing.
