A former air hostess who had sex with a 15-year-old schoolboy has been released on bail after spending just a week behind bars.
Melissa Nosti, from North Ryde in Sydney, slept with a teenage pupil at the school she once worked in as an attendance officer, back in 2010.
The 33-year-old was sentenced to 18 months in jail, with six months non-parole, after she pleaded guilty at a previous hearing.
But she has since been released on bail under strict police conditions.
The disgraced stewardess was working as an attendance officer at the time of the incident, The Sun reports.
She appeared in Burwood Local Court via a video link from Silverwater Women’s cells.
Her lawyer made a bail appeal and told the court she was at low risk of reoffending.
According to the Australian Daily Telegraph, the lawyer claimed: “She has had an employment history after this. She was in the airline industry.”
The lawyer’s successful bail bid came after he produced a doctor’s assessment that proved Nosti was unlikely to reoffend, according to local reports in Australia.
Magistrate Susan Horan said a victim impact statement from Nosti’s schoolboy victim was “compelling” before granting her bail.
Her bail was granted on the conditions that she owned one mobile phone and gave the police the password when asked.
She was also banned from contacting the victim, nor anyone or being in the company of anyone under the age of 16.
Nosti will appear at an appeal hearing later this year.
