In the recent ‘Summer of Britain’ campaign, Expedia found that 74% of British travellers want to explore the UK more this year with plenty of beautiful seaside resorts, kids friendly campsites and scenery you don’t want to miss.
To celebrate a British Summer, Expedia has launched its summer sale packed with deals worthy of getting booked online now to avoid dissappointment.
As of Monday 3rd August, a host of domestic options will be available to UK customers, covering many areas of Britain.
When booking, it’s important to abide by government advice and keep up to date with current travel restrictions. Also, look out for accommodation which can be booked with a flexible cancellation policy, giving you peace of mind while you organise your next trip away.
In fact, between the 20th July and 27th July, every single one of the top 10 destinations on Expedia.co.uk was within the UK.
Here are the top destinations for Brits in July
Lake District and Cumbria
Traveller interest in this time frame has highlighted the most popular spots for holidays over the next two months were London, Devon, the Lake District, North Cornwall and North Wales.
In particular, North Cornwall has seen double the interest compared to the week before with us Brits trying to get every ounce of sun possible in the UK.
Although slightly further down the list, interest in the Scottish Highlands has also soared by a huge 70%, while the Yorkshire coast has increased by nearly 50%, showing how British travellers are keen to make memories on home soil while the sun shines.
