Here are her nine hotel hacks:
Never reveal your room number out loud
“First things first, never say your room number out loud,” Kat said.
“Just in case there is someone around and you don’t want them knowing where you’re staying.”
Check around you before entering your room
Kat then pans around an empty corridor before explaining: “Always make sure there’s no-one behind you when going into your room.”
Check if there’s anyone in the room
Kat then enters the room, and advises to look around to make sure no-one is in there.
“Check if there’s anybody in the room. Behind the curtains and under the bed etc.”
Lock the doors
The flight attendant then advises people to ensure the doors are locked.
“Always make sure you lock the top lock,” she added.
Check for bed bugs
“Next, you want to make sure for bed bugs,” Kat says, by checking on the corners of the mattress.

Remove any decorative pillows
Kat says any decorative pillows on the bed should be removed.
“Take them and any top comforters because they never wash those,” she explained.
Be careful where you put your bag
“Never put your bag on the bed,” Kat warns.
“It’s been through an airport and it’s disgusting.”
No fridge? No problem
This hack involves food.
“If you don’t have a refrigerator, then put your food in an ice bucket, and there you go!”
Think about the remote control
Kat’s final hack can be used if you do not use the plastic wrap for the ice bucket.
“Put it over your remote,” she said. “That thing sees so many hands but doesn’t get cleaned.”
“It’s so important especially now to try to stay safe and clean,” she explained after mentioning that she saw lots of comments where people admitted to not following any of her tips.
Kat said she had noticed a huge difference at hotels since the coronavirus pandemic began, noticing people practicing social distancing at gyms and pools.
Her video received praise and criticism from viewers, with some complaining Kat was too paranoid.
One comment read: “ngl this seems super paranoid.”
But others agreed with her. “No-one listens to me when I say don’t put ur suitcase on the bed thank you for saying it,” one person said.
Another said: “I was a housekeeper and can confirm that the decorative pillows and blankets only get washed during “deep cleans” which is about every 4-6 months”.
