NHS and nursing home staff working during the festive period can take two cab rides to work and receive a meal discount in recognition of their dedication during the Covid pandemic.
Anyone with an NHS or HSC email address can claim the two £ 10 Uber rides to get to and from work, and a £ 10 meal during the holiday season through Uber Eats.
The annual festive offer is available to all NHS and HSC employees who have worked so hard on the pandemic and will continue to work around the clock throughout the Christmas season.
Uber Medics also returns, in cooperation with Mastercard. The service offers all NHS and UK nursing home staff in England and Wales a 25% discount on all journeys until the end of 2020. If you use a Mastercard, the discount will be upgraded to 50 percent.
The vacation discount follows the 200,000 free rides and more than 100,000 meals for NHS staff that Uber announced at the start of the pandemic.
Jamie Heywood, Uber’s regional general manager, said, “More than ever before, we are deeply indebted to the NHS. NHS and doctors, nurses and support staff deserve a helping hand this Christmas, especially during times when travel can be difficult and services are limited. “
The offer was welcomed by the Minister of Health Matt Hancock. He added, “Everyone has a role to play in our national efforts to help the NHS tackle the coronavirus, so it’s great to see Uber again offering meals and trips to work for our brilliant NHS employees. , as well as discounted travel for nursing home staff. .
“Our heroic health and social care workers are at the forefront of the fight against this virus and I am overwhelmed by the way the entire country has come together to support them.”
NHS and HSC employees must ensure that a Uber account is linked to their NHS or HSC email address by December 20 to be eligible. Users will be sent a promotional code that they must add to their Uber account to claim the offer.
The Uber and Uber Eats codes can be redeemed for travel and orders during the Christmas week, December 23-27.
