Girl, 6, falls 40ft from balcony but miraculously survives after landing in snow

Shocking footage shows the moment when a six-year-old girl miraculously survived after falling 40 feet from a balcony.

The child collapsed into the thick snow before getting up, shook itself, and returned home, despite a concussion.

Her scary fall from a fourth-floor flat in the Russian city of Tomsk was recorded on CCTV.

For a moment she didn’t move in the thick pile of snow, only her long dark hair was visible.

She appears to be wearing a long-sleeved top, soft pants and socks with a light collar when she fell at a temperature of -6 ° C around 9 p.m. on Saturday evening.

Then she got up, wiped herself, climbed a low gate and ran slowly to the door of her apartment building on Karl Marx Street.

While there are no witnesses in the video, it is clear that someone called the emergency services because the unnamed girl was rushed to the hospital.

She was briefly treated in intensive care before moving to a regular ward at Tome Ambulance Hospital Number Two.

“The child spent one night in an intensive care unit,” said a local report.

“The doctors have managed to stabilize the condition of the little patient.”

According to reports, she had a concussion, but no fractures from the 12-meter drop.

The Russian Commission of Inquiry said: “The girl fell into a snowdrift, sustained physical injury in the fall and was hospitalized as a result …

“It was determined that the victim lived at the address with her mother, who was absent at the time of the child’s fall.”

The mother can be prosecuted for negligence.
