Guilty dog tries to act innocent after owner sees mess but shaking leg gives her away

A mischievous dog has been filmed pulling a “guilty face” after being caught red-handed ripping open her owner’s package and eating sweet potatoes.

Tutu, the one-year-old Corgi, tried to get away from her naughty act and gave her owner Ms Zhang a startled look when she returned home in Beijing, China.

In footage shared on Tutu’s dedicated Douyin account, a Chinese version of TikTok, the pooch stands right next to a grocery delivery box with a visible hole at the corner.

A half-eaten sweet potato can be seen pulled out from inside the sealed package.

Tutu remains silent but stares at Ms Zhang for a few seconds before quickly looking away.

But the owner finds out the real culprit when she sees Tutu’s leg shivering.

Ms Zhang wrote in the post: “The determined looks she gave me, but her shivering legs had given her away.

“How does that stolen sweet potato taste?”

She told Daily Star Online: “There were only sweet potatoes inside the package.

“I left the package home and came back to see the mess on the floor, and the box was broken with a half-eaten sweet potato sticking out from the corner.”

The clip has garnered more than 471,000 likes on the platform.

Viewers were left in stitches as some said the poor pooch felt so guilty eating the vegetable.

One said: “Tutu must be hungry, I’m sure this is her last resort, see how guilty the way she looked at you.”

Another commented: “Tutu should have eaten the whole sweet potato! Poor thing, she is shivering non-stop.”

Ms Zhang replied that she didn’t expect Tutu to be shivering in fear.

“Maybe you’re not tough enough,” she told one dog owner. “She would get like this when I raise my voice to tell her off.”
