Harrowing footage shows mums searching for their children after plane crashes

Distressing images show mothers in need who are desperate for their children after the plane crash in Pakistan today.

The Pakistan International Airlines plane collided today in a residential area near Karachi airport.

The pilot reported an engine failure when the Airbus A320 with 107 passengers reached its final approach from Lahore.

While there were reportedly few survivors, new images on social media show panicky relationships rushing to find their loved ones near the crash site.

It shows that men lift the tape to pass ailing families. Some men hold young children.

It is unclear whether these people were victims of the crash.

But a five-year-old’s body was recovered from the rubble in Model Colony, as more than 40 people, including a dust-covered baby and other young children, were rescued from the site, local media reported.

It was unclear whether people were injured or killed on the ground or in buildings.

The images show an apocalyptic scene with fires burning in a narrow street filled with debris from the destroyed planes, as well as buildings damaged and cars added up, and a wall of suffocating black smoke.

Neighbors and rescue workers were spotted with the site’s young children as local mothers tried desperately to find their children amid the chaos.

Flight PK8303 was on a domestic trip from the eastern city of Lahore to the southern city of Karachi when it declared an emergency and crashed.

The state-run PIA and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said that 99 passengers and eight crew members were on board the 15-year-old plane, which was recently inspected by government officials in November last year.

The aircraft’s black box, which contains cockpit audio recordings and technical flight data, has been restored by researchers.
