Good Morning Britain’s Dr Hilary Jones has slammed President Donald Trump for his claim that coronavirus could ‘go away’ without a vaccine.
Trump appeared on ABC News on Tuesday to discuss a possible vaccine in the United States when he made the comment.
He discussed ‘herd mentality’ and how this could help to end Covid-19 even without a vaccine.
Trump said: “It’s probably gonna go away now a lot faster because of the vaccine. It would go away without the vaccine, George.
“With time, and you’ll develop like a herd mentality. It’s gonna be herd developed, that’s gonna happen.”
But Dr Hilary has hit back at the claims, and has warned that there is still ‘worse to come’.
Speaking to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, he said: “Well obviously the intravenous bleach is working in America, maybe we should adopt that policy.
“No, I think he’s completely blind to what is going on around the world… there’s a lot worse to come.
“While I try to be an optimist, I think we have to face reality. Cases are rising in France, over 480 cases this week.
“Intensive care is seeing a rising number of cases here, we’re seeing more positive tests, hospitalisations, there’s 100 people on ventilators in this country right now in intensive care.
“We shouldn’t be be complacent about this. Trump might say it’s going way in America, he wants his population to believe that.
“It’s not happening anywhere in the world.”
