Huge shark and 16ft crocodile caught in tense face-off metres from swimming kids

One couple captured the terrifying moment when a shark came face to face with a crocodile yards away from swimmers.

The thrilling scene, set in the Ord River in northern Western Australia, was noticed by a couple fishing nearby.

Chelsea and Bryce had just set up their drone to see what was lurking in front of them when they spotted a large bull shark that appeared to be trying to intimidate a five meter long crocodile just a short distance from unaware families and swimmers.

The short clip sees a huge crocodile, estimated by Chelsea to be about 4 meters long, patiently waiting for its next meal when a shark approaches it.

With the crocodile in sight, the tension starts to rise.

After a short stand-off, however, the shark goes in a different direction completely unharmed.

The duo told Daily mail : “We didn’t know there were crocodiles or sharks around, as the locals are always in the water.”

“I think this was a rare sighting, but probably good for people to see what’s lurking around the waters in the Kimberley region.”

Chelsea and Bryce shared the haunting footage with their nearly 2,500 followers on Instagram, posting regular updates on their latest travel adventures.

Since the video was posted, it has been viewed over 3,000 times, liked 297 times and has received numerous comments from other travel enthusiasts.

One person wrote, “Remind me not to go swimming there.”
