The I’m A Celebrity camp was stunned on Friday night (Nov. 27) when the first star was thrown from the castle.
Paralympic Champion Hollie Aldridge was the first camp mate to leave Gwrych Castle after a public vote.
Her departure came after Shane Richie and AJ Pritchard were victorious in a Chamber Of Horrors challenge
Grimsby gold medalist Hollie lasted 14 days on the ITV show.
The 26-year-old was almost in tears when she said goodbye.
“I’m devastated,” she told Ant and Dec.
“I never really knew what to expect, I thought, ‘just go in there and enjoy every second of it.’ It was a crazy experience for me.”
She added, “I was so nervous. I felt like maybe it was me. I’m a little superstitious when you said the names. I thought, ‘It will be me.’
“But honestly, I love everyone in there and I love what their values are and what they mean to me. And I will never forget this experience. “
There were emotional words from the camp mates on their last night as ‘family’, with the BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire saying the participants had all ‘essentially fallen in love’.
Earlier, former Strictly Come Dancing professional AJ and soap star Richie joined forces after Richie promised the other contestants, “Tonight we’ll eat like kings and queens.”
Arriving at the challenge, the couple were told they would be sealed in separate rooms with their bodies underground.
In six rounds, they had to collect stars using only their tongues like maggots, grasshoppers, scorpions and giant mealworms raining down on their heads.
The fifth round saw them covered with snakes, and in the sixth, guards came to pour rats on them.
The pair eventually took 11 out of 12 stars for the camp, but after that Richie admitted, “I’m just numb, I’m broken.”
The celebrities ate venison for dinner before facing the series’ first elimination.
