Late push lifts Rockies to series opening win over Phillies in MLB The Show 20

Now that the start of the Major League Baseball season has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, here at The Denver Post we’ve watched how the Rockies would fare in MLB The Show 20 on PlayStation 4. We’ll have a story for each game planned until real baseball returns. Here’s a look at the preview of the Rockies virtual preseason. In Friday’s game, the Rockies were 33-15.

It took a while, but the Rockies bats came to life when they needed them most.

David Dahl drove in two runs in the eighth inning to lead Colorado to a 3-2 victory on Friday against the Phillies in their series-opener at Coors Field.

Philadelphia came to the board early when Bryce Harper hit a two-run homerun against Kyle Freeland in the first inning. The starter of the Rockies then would settle, meaning there were no more runs in six innings. Reliever Jairo Diaz (5-1) threw two scoreless innings to win.

The Rockies hit the board in the seventh inning when Charlie Blackmon hit a solo homerun to make it 2-1.

Colorado won its fifth straight straight and improved to 34-15 on an annual basis. Philadelphia fell to 27-23. Chi Chi Gonzalez (0-4) climbs the mound for Colorado against Aaron Nola in Philadelphia (3-2)
