A lucky Brit has managed to bag themselves a massive EuroMillions jackpot after coming forward to claim more than £79million.
The new millionaire bought the ticket for Tuesday’s draw and is the fifth person in the UK to claim the EuroMillions jackpot.
The mystery winner will now have their ticket undergo validation checks and the person will decided whether or not to go public about the win.
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said, “It is fantastic news that a lucky ticket-holder has now claimed this enormous prize. We will now focus on supporting the ticket-holder through the process.”
This is a record-breaking win for the lucky UK EuroMillions jackpot winner, as this is the biggest UK win of the year so far.
The win places the lucky ticket-holder on the National Lottery Rich List, at number 15 of the biggest wins ever, and is the fifth UK EuroMillions jackpot win of 2020.
These wins combined have propelled the UK to the top of the ranks of EuroMillions jackpots won per country, and the UK is now level-pegging with France at 109 jackpots won.
According to Camelot, the exact amount won by the UK ticket holder is £79,315,197.70.
The lucky punter matched all five numbers and the two Lucky Stars to bag the main prize – making them one of the biggest lotto winners of all time.
The numbers were 13, 15, 28, 44, 32 and the Lucky Stars were 3 and 12.
