A man has had a cluster of 29 magnetic balls removed from his bladder after placing metal balls in his penis.
The patient, who has not been named, said he saw blood in his urine roughly 10 days after he had placed the tiny metal balls in through the penis.
He rushed to No. 2 People’s Hospital in the city of Xi’an, in Shaanxi province of central China, where specialists performed a CT scan on him.
Urologist Qu Li-ming told Kan Kan News that the magnetic beads had gathered into a big cluster inside the patient’s bladder and had to be surgically removed.
He said: “The patient said he was peeing blood frequently and with pain and complained of pain in his lower abdomen.
“He explained to me that he had inserted 29 beads inside his penis one by one.”
The doctor said the beads stuck together like a long stick and slid to the bladder along the urethra.
Experts had to perform microsurgery to remove the foreign objects.
Dr Qu added: “There is calcification on the surface of these beads, meaning it had stayed in the body for a long period of time.
“The man is in a stable condition but will remain in hospital for further treatment.”
Meanwhile, a “curious” young boy had recently removed a 5ft long charging cable from his penis after inserted it five years ago.
Doctors found a bundle of what appeared to be rubber-coated copper wires inside the boy’s bladder under the scan.
The cable had become tangled and caused an infection in the child’s bladder.
