A mother who says she grew ‘bored’ of her 13-year marriage started dating another man and his wife.
Emma Fedigan, 37, had been honest about her sexuality when she first met her partner Robert, 39, when they were both aged 21.
She told him she identified as “pansexual” – a term used for someone not limited in sexual choice by gender or biological sex or gender identity.
Emma spent 16 years raising her four sons with her husband in Perth, Australia – before taking the next step when it came to her sexual desires.
The healthcare professional told her safety adviser husband that she had decided to start dating other people and had even met a married couple.
Emma and Robert started officially dating fellow husband and wife Simon Berry, 43 and his wife Kelly, 42.
While all were dating one-another, Simon and Robert were not in a relationship with one another.
Emma said she is now in a loving relationship with Simon -despite her 16-year marriage to Robert.
She said: “Rob is my bet mate and I couldn’t do life without him, but it’s unfair to expect our partner to fill every single one of our needs.
“Love is infinate. It does not end with one person.”
Emma added that her four sons also love Simon – who helps parent with school runs and other fatherly jobs.
Simon and Kelly have been together since they were 16 and had started exploring Perth’s swinging scene.
But they said they became ‘disillusioned’ and started exploring polyamory as a way of seeking more meaningful connections, reports news.com.au.
However, the quadruple group’s relationship ended in November last year due to communication difficulties between Emma and Kelly.
Emma ‘broke-up with both Kelly and Simon – before they group managed to salvage their relationship again with an “honest chat”.
Simon said he ‘wasn’t willing to let his relationship with Emma go without fighting for it’.
He added: “Me and Emma had a connection from the start and Rob and me are mates.”
While most of those in the group said their families are supportive of their choices, Emma said some of her families disapprove and have chosen to distance themselves from her.
While Simon and Emma have no official plans to have children – Emma said she “wouldn’t have an issue with it” if she did fall pregnant with his child.
