A mother dressed her children up as astronauts to keep them free from coronavirus as they passed airport security.
Images shared yesterday by the popular Instagram account Passenger Shaming show two children in white inflatable hazmat suits walking into a lounge at a Chinese airport.
The astronaut-like outfit has four decorative tubes connected from the back to the side of the spacesuit.
It appears to be equipped with a reflective face shield.
The younger child guides his mother through a temperature check while his older brother, who also wears the same hazmat suit, pushes the pram from behind.
This is after a man was seen wearing a similar space-themed hazmat suit when he boarded a flight at Beijing’s Capital International Airport.
An airport spokesperson told local media that there are no rules to restrict passenger equipment.
“If only it is so [the outfit] other passengers will not cause safety concerns or damage, we will not stop them from boarding, “she added.
The video generated more than 860 responses that dazzled viewers with the child’s costume.
One of them said, “Are they going on a rocket to Mars?”
“This is so cute, but I’m not sure if the kids are wearing it comfortably,” added another.
However, some criticized whether the suits could prevent the child from getting coronavirus, while others said the outfit was too “flashy.”
“How does she know they can be corona free in those astronaut suits?” asked a concerned viewer.
A fourth said, “I think it’s too flashy and the mom wants to do it for Instagram!”
