A mother who sold her son’s old game console was ‘hurt’ when she accidentally gave the buyer more than he bargained for – when he found her adult toy in the box.
Sara Foggo was hoping to raise a little money before Christmas and came across a Sega Mega Drive after emptying her kids’ bedrooms.
The mother of three, from Mirfield, West Yorks, posted the retro game console to the Facebook marketplace for £ 25 but was let down by a few sellers.
Luckily, gambling madman Shane Tutton saw the item and after agreeing to pay the asking price, asked a mutual friend, James Bishop, to pick it up for him.

The next day, James came to pick up the Mega Drive and although Sara thought the box was heavy when she handed it over, she thought nothing of the sale anymore.
Less than 24 hours later, however, a hangover Sara, 34, was confused when James reported that his friend was happy with the console, but ‘a bunny in a sock’ jumped into the box.
Baffled, Sara asked what he meant and was left dumbfounded when he told her it was a ‘rampant’ and followed it up with a photo.
On the carpet under the Mega Drive box was a purple adult toy sticking out of a polka dot sock.
Sara said, “I was absolutely hurt, but I couldn’t stop laughing. Things like this just happen to me.
“I was confused when he first messaged me, but when that picture came through I was just like ‘oh my God’.
“I put the console on Marketplace and I had a few people texting, but they ended it.
“I’ve known James for a few years and he asked if he could come and get it for Shane on Saturday, which worked great for me.

“It was my birthday a few days earlier, so I had a few drinks to celebrate, so I went and grabbed the console from my son’s bedroom and set it up next door for James.
“When I picked up the box I thought it was particularly tough, but I just thought it was the manuals.
James came that afternoon and I gave it to him. It wasn’t until he messaged me about rabbit hopping on Sunday that I heard anything else.
‘I just couldn’t figure out what he meant. When he said ‘rampant’ and sent me the photo, I could have died.
“I wouldn’t have minded, but the rabbit was worth more than what I sold the Sega for. I won it in a competition a few years ago, but normally it costs £ 45. I only got the Mega Drive for £ 25. sold.
‘He’s got a good bargain. I asked him for it, but I think he thought I was kidding. I’m not sure I want to now.

“I don’t know Shane, but it was lucky it was for him and not for a kid. Imagine a kid opened this Sega box on Christmas Day hoping to play Sonic and there is a big 10” large Rampant Rabbit with its tail spinning.
“I joked that I had to set up a GoFundMe as a replacement because it will be lonely this Christmas.”
Worse for Sara, the sock holding the toy wasn’t hers, but her mother’s.
Sara said, “It was in a sock, I don’t know why, and when I uploaded the exchange to Facebook, my mom messaged me that it was hers. I couldn’t believe it.
“She laughed about it and that’s good. I have more money out of my pocket though, I will now have to buy her a new pair.”
“I don’t remember why I put the rabbit in that box. People have asked why it was in a kids console box and I honestly have no idea.”
Sara uploaded the messages between her and James to Facebook, where it has been shared more than 200 times.
Mobile DJ James, 32, said: “Shane asked me to pick it up for him as a favor and when he sent me the profile I realized I knew it was Sara.
He thought I was playing a joke on him, but I didn’t know about it. He video called me and said ‘you’re funny you turn me on’ and showed me the sock and the rabbit. We couldn’t don’t stop laughing.
‘I wasn’t sure whether to tell her or not, but I know she wants to laugh, so I did. It’s done well. Sara is so easy going and can joke about it. ‘
