A mom has praised a £ 1 Aldi shake for helping her lose more than 10th and drop seven dress sizes.
Jackie Burrows, 54, from Brisbane, Australia, has gone from 19 and size 22 to now with a weight of 9.7 and a slim size of 8/10.
She has hailed Aldi’s meal replacement shakes as her secret weapon behind her dramatic transformation over the course of 11 months.
She initially replaced her breakfast with the 205 calorie drinks – which come in vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, and coffee flavors – before eventually eating them for dinner, too.
And now she’s shared amazing before and after weight loss transformation photos.
Take to the Aldi MothersFacebook page, an inspiring Jackie swore, “I’m not going back like I was.
“I’m not such a fat person anymore.”
Jackie previously shared her amazing weight loss journey in October, and this week told in an update how she managed to maintain her new body with healthy eating and even lost a stone.
She said she now just drinks the meal replacement shakes for breakfast, while her other meals include salad, chicken or fish.
She has also cut carbohydrates, dairy, red meat, coffee, alcohol, and junk food from her diet.
She explained, “Motivation is the key and the will to do something about it – I’ve been dieting all my life.
“I started the shakes on January 28, 2019. I had one for breakfast and one for dinner.
“It was difficult when I started, especially the first week, until my body got used to consuming fewer calories.
“I made salads – mixed salad leaves, capiscum, carrot, cucumber, tomatoes, olives, jalapenos with chicken or fish.
“I have green tea, water, red grapes, butterless popcorn, uncrystallized ginger, dates, and almonds.”
Jackie says she also did an hour of exercise every day for 11 months.
“I now do five hours a week for five days a week and have a weekend off,” she said.
“I’ve changed my lifestyle, I’ve never seen it as a diet – it’s what I had to do.
“I bought clothes that were smaller and forced myself to crawl into them. You must want it badly and I did.
“Now I can buy all the clothes I want. I’m not such a fat person anymore – I was happy but now I’m happier. “
Jackie says she had originally pounded on the pounds after having four children, leaving her with no time to take care of herself.
“My first children were twin girls, and I brought 30 kg with me in 1993,” she said.
“Then I had my son in 1994 and then another daughter in 1997. During this time, I always put my children first, so I didn’t have time for me.”
When she hit 127 kg and a size 22, the mother decided to make a change.
She learned that a friend lost more than five stones through shakes and decided to try it.
She said, “I had never tried diet shakes or programmed weight loss before. I didn’t want to participate in weight loss programs and didn’t want to be noticed as a failure.”
After replacing her breakfast with a shake, she soon began to see results that motivated her to continue.
She added, “I have often posted one [sachet] in my drinking cup / shaker and in my handbag, so I don’t make bad choices when I’m gone.
“Getting active was the hardest part. I was the most lazy person. “
The Australian says she has never felt happier and is confident she will keep the weight off.
Jackie thanked everyone for their support and added that her weight loss was checked by a doctor.
Jackie’s post received a lot of support from the group members, who congratulated her on her weight loss.
“My god Jackie, you are a source of inspiration, you also look fantastic and younger!” said one.
Another added: “That’s the best. Wow, you look fantastic and congratulations. Weight loss is difficult!”
The Aldi Slim & Trim shakes – which cost $ 2 Australian dollars (around £ 1).
Aldi advises on his website: “When using shakes, make sure you eat plenty of vegetables to ensure you get all your fiber, vitamins and minerals and boost your weight loss progress by exercising a little every day.”
