Philip Schofield turned off Matt Hancock for telling the audience that they could see one parent at a time – and labeled his guidance “utterly crazy.”
The health secretary appeared on ITV’s This Morning when hosts Phil and Holly questioned the high minister about the government’s new lockdown rules.
Philip repeatedly confronted Matt Hancock and questioned him during the interview, which quickly got quite heated.
The pair collided when the TV presenter discussed the new lockdown rule saying that British people can meet people from outside their household as long as they adhere to social distance restrictions.

“It’s something about mental health,” said Philip, “when you look at family, I can understand the rules very clearly with social distance.
“When it comes to parents, we’ve been separated for so long.”
Matt Hancock replied by insisting that it would be possible to see both, which prompted Philip to ask, “Does this mean I can see my parents for ten minutes?”
“Yes, as long as it’s only one at a time, that’s fine.” Mr. Hancock said.
Visibly frustrated, Philip fired back, “Can’t you see that it’s completely crazy?”
To which Mr. Hancock said, “No, we don’t want to gather large groups.
“You have to put a line somewhere.
“I think people understand that we have made a balanced judgment.
“I have a longing to see someone’s loved ones.”
Later in the interview, the minister also announced that the summer vacation will be canceled this year and that the public will not be able to leave until 2021.
When Phil and Holly asked if the summer would be essentially canceled, Matt Hancock told them he thinks that’s probably the case.
“I think it’s unlikely that big sumptuous international vacations will be possible this summer.”
