Puppy walks children to school bus every morning and waits for them to get on

A cute dog has been filmed patiently waiting for his owner’s kids to get on the bus safely – a routine he follows every morning.

Golden retriever puppy Bentley has melted the internet after adorable images shared by owner Melissa Nixon went viral on Facebook.

The clip shows the dog guarding six-year-old Kylie and McKenna, 5, as their school bus arrives.

He sits patiently while the kids get on the school bus and even watches him drive off.

Melissa’s video, which was shared on November 20, has unsurprisingly been liked over 2,000 times, and she explained in the caption that Bentley does the same thing ‘every morning’.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Star, the 33-year-old said that the entire behavior of the dog changes when he watches over the kids every morning.

“He’s been taking them to the bus since he came to our family,” she said.

“The funny thing is that because he is energetic and playful, he takes his job of taking the kids to the bus very seriously.

“The bus driver and monitor say goodbye to him every morning and he sits very strong and quiet until he makes sure the kids are safe and then he turns back to his goofy self!”

Bentley is only four months old, but has already developed a strong relationship with the family

Melissa, who lives with her family in Amherst, New York, USA, said Bentley also likes to visit the children at their after-school care.

“Sometimes he can come along to pick up the kids and walk in to greet all the kids,” she added. “He is such a great puppy and learned everything very quickly.”

The mother of five’s Facebook video proved hugely popular with viewers.

“Omg my heart,” someone wrote. Another said, “This is the best.”

While a third said, “So sweet and adorable.”
