A tour operator specialising in rail holidays has introduced a series of new initiatives designed to help travellers handle difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Great Rail Journeys, the UK escorted rail holiday provider, has introduced an updated insurance policy to ensure customers receive Covid-19 cover as standard, with no increase in the price of the policy.
It now covers customers who can’t travel due to contracting Covid-19, along with providing medial cover and repatriation if they fall ill on holiday.
The new cover follows a consumer survey that found 52 per cent of holidaymakers felt very concerned their travel insurance would not cover Covid-19.
More than 4,500 people took part in the survey conducted by Great Rail Journeys, which investigated travel preferences in response to the pandemic.
Great Rail Journeys is also helping guests to look forward to their next holiday by launching a new flexible booking offer, which allows travellers who book before the end of October to move their holiday to a new departure date in 2021 free of charge if their plans need to change.
The new initiatives are among a series of steps the tour operator has taken to ensure the comfort and safety of its guests at all stages of their holiday.
