An Orlando tourist attraction built for fun and laughter turned into a tragic scene Monday morning.

Jacob David Kaminsky, 21, was killed after plunging from the StarFlyer, Florida’s tallest tourist attraction that is billed as the world’s tallest swing ride, while performing a routine safety check, according to multiple reports.

Kaminsky was approximately halfway up the 450-foot tall ride when he fell to the platform, an Orange County Fire Rescue spokesperson told clickorlando.com. Another worker climbing the tower was unhurt but needed help getting down.

“It’s a shock and we’re saddened by it,” StarFlyer director of marketing and sales, John Stine, told clickorlando.com. “Any time there is an injury or something of this nature, it’s extremely sad.”
