Second member of University of Hawaii women’s basketball program tests positive for COVID-19

A second member of the University of Hawaii’s Rainbow Wahine basketball program has tested positive for COVID-19 living in student housing, the school announced today.

UH said the member, who did not mention it, is asymptomatic and is currently isolated in an off-campus location.

The case was discovered by contact tracking after the team was tested and ordered to go into quarantine on Monday after a positive test from another member.

UH said the Department of Health has been notified, and “those in close contact with student housing have been tested and monitored in self-quarantine. The remainder of the student housing contract search exposures were negative. “
