Seven people and a dog were slaughtered in an Alabama gun massacre – before their house was torched in the dead of night.
Cops were called to the late night shooting in a house in Morgan County, Alabama, where bodies of four men and three women were discovered.
According to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, two of the men killed have been identified as Jeramy Wayde Roberts, 31, and William Zane Hodgin, 18.
A dog was also shot and killed in the brutal shooting which took place on Talucah Road in the Valhermoso Springs community at around 11:30pm Thursday night, reports WaayTV.
Police received two separate calls from neighbours who reported hearing gunshots going off intermittently for an hour.
Mike Swafford from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said: “It is a horrific scene and to be able to process it will take some time.”
He added: “We don’t have a motive at this time, we don’t have a determined suspect at this time.
“Investigators are following leads to piece together exactly what happened and who was involved. We can say we don’t believe there is an active threat to anybody in the area.”
“This doesn’t happen in Morgan County. We had a triple homicide two weeks ago and I think that’s the first anyone can remember in 20 plus years so to have 7 is substantial.”
Investigators have closed the road as they search for more information surrounding the killings.
According to WaayTV, the bodies were found in different areas around the house – only a couple have been identified and their families have been contacted, the bodies are being removed from the scene.
It has also been reported cops have been called to the home multiple times in the past.
They are believed to have attended the home for an incident that occurred last week.
