Foreign tourists can enjoy a summer holiday in Spain from July, the country’s prime minister confirms.
Bars, hotels, restaurants and hotels inland were told to prepare to do business again in a few days.
The news means the country’s hospitality industry can start operating just in time for the peak of the summer season, the Express reports.
At a conference held this afternoon, Mr Sanchez said: “We must start to restart economic activity.
“Some of these sectors are inn and tourism, which play a fundamental role in job creation.
“The time has come. I announce that there will be a tourist season this year and I invite all the tourist institutions to prepare from today to resume their activities in a few days.”
He said tourism would be “in safe conditions” in July.
