Brits jetting abroad are being warned to expect a less than warm welcome following the easing of restrictions.
As the world currently grapples with life amid a pandemic, our Spanish, Italian, French and German friends have all expressed concerns about UK visitors visiting their country, The Mirror reports.
A YouGov survey has highlighted a staggering 61 per cent of Spanish people said they would like UK tourists to be banned from their shores.
The second most anti-Brit nation is Germany (58pc) followed by France (55pc) and Italy (44pc).
The news comes as holiday restrictions for Brits in England are lifted tomorrow – allowing sun seekers to jet off to 73 destinations without having to quarantine on their return.
However not everyone polled was as strongly opposed to Brit tourists.
Norway, Finland and Denmark did not put Brit holidaymakers top of the hit list, with most of people in these countries opposing Swedish holidaymakers.
Sweden did not go into a nationwide lockdown. It registered 1.6 deaths per million people on Thursday ( July 9) which was higher overall than the 1.4 deaths registered in the UK.
The survey questioned 1,000 people from ten countries.
Despite their worries about allowing Brits and Swede nationals to enjoy their respective national hospitality, the American and Chinese tourists are the most unwelcome according to the poll.
Overall between 61 and 79pc of people in each of the ten countries covered in the survey, did not want to let US tourists.
There was an opposition rate between 57 and 77pc for Chinese visitors – following the widely accepted view Wuhan in China is believed to be the source of the Covid 19 outbreak.
In the survey, over half of Brits said there were planning no holidays abroad at all this year as they wait for a vaccine or treatment to combat the virus. Only 3 per cent of Brits polled would consider travelling to China/.
The survey researchers explained: “The vast majority of people who might normally consider going somewhere on holiday are refusing to do so specifically because of coronavirus.”
