Stately home hotel offers afternoon tea takeaways during lockdown

There’s no shortage of varieties when it comes to takeaway, but a historic stately home is now in action.

The beautiful Hawkstone Hall in Shropshire offers a pick-up service every Friday and Saturday through November.

The 18th century venue is usually a favorite for visitors who want to sample one of the famous classic afternoon teas.

However, with strict lockdown curbs, this means that Hawkstone Hall is now giving customers the chance to take home the traditional English delight.

The tea is full of classic flavors with a modern Hawkstone twist. Visitors can choose from a traditional selection, a hearty gentlemen’s option, or the wholesome guilt-free menu.

Most include a range of delicate finger sandwiches, homemade pies, pies and scones, along with a selection of loose teas or freshly brewed coffee.

A festive version complete with concert and Christmas carols is scheduled for the run-up to Christmas, subject to the relaxation of the Covid-19 restrictions.

Nestled in the hills of the rolling Shropshire countryside, Hawkstone Hall is a beautiful Grade II listed estate.

The mansion features 37 bedrooms, two restaurants – The Saloon and Hills Kitchen – a gym, and some beautiful indoor and outdoor areas with scenic views.
