A group of young children narrowly escaped serious injuries when a small aircraft flew just metres above them on a beach.
Terrifying video shared on social media captures the pilot’s risky manoeuvre on the beach in Corrientes, located in north Argentina, on Sunday, November 8.
A group of adults are seen sitting on the sun loungers while the young children chase after each other on the beach.
The single-engine aircraft takes a sharp turn in the air and heads directly for the shoreline.
It catches the beachgoers’ attention when they see the plane descend and flies just over the head of the kids.
One shocked parent can be heard saying: “No, no, no.”
The plane then returns to the previous altitude as it heads to the sea.
Witnesses said the pilot repeated the same risky stunt several times, according to local reports.
The irresponsible act has since been alerted to the related authorities.
Luis Calomarde, the mayor of La Cruz, released a statement and requested an investigation into what happened.
The National Civil Aviation Administration has been notified of the situation in order to prevent events like this from happening again.
The identity of the person behind the stunt is currently unknown.
It came after another small plane made an emergency landing on a narrow highway.
Footage shared by local media shows the two-seater Cessna 150 aircraft landing on the asphalt near the Copacabana tourist centre.
The 24-year-old pilot claimed the jet suffered mechanical damage.
Emergency response units confirmed that the aircraft was moved to the side of the road and traffic was restored.
