A miraculous baby survived being shot twice by ISIS militants when they stormed a maternity ward in Kabul.
Three depraved gunmen slaughtered toddlers, nurses and hospital guards when they launched an attack on Barchi National Hospital.
A mother was forced to give birth in silence while huddled by the terrorists in a side room.
The girl, called Nazia, was shot twice in the leg as the fanatics ripped through the maternity ward.
Her mother – also known as Nazia – died in the attack.
Dr. Noor ul-Haq Yousafzai told the Times, “We have set up the rift of Nazia so that she will be able to walk when she is tall.
“But to see a newborn baby just three hours old shoot twice. Everyone is shocked. This is inhumane. ‘
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a midwife at the hospital told her how to cut an umbilical cord with her bare hands while the mother tried to give birth in silence.
She said, “We helped her with our bare hands, we had nothing in the room but some toilet paper and our scarves.
“At the birth of the baby, we cut the umbilical cord with our hands. We used our headscarf to wrap the baby and the mother.
The mother was in pain but tried not to make a sound.
“She even put her finger in the newborn baby’s mouth to keep her from crying.”
There were 26 new mothers in the hospital when armed men posing as members of the Afghan Security Forces raided the maternity ward.
Eleven were killed in the three-hour attack, including three in childbirth.
Three armed men were later killed by Afghan security forces.
