Tim Tebow becomes part-owner of Jacksonville Icemen hockey team

Add ice hockey to Tim Tebow’s repertoire.

Along with Jaguar linebacker Myles Jack and former Jacksonville star Reggie Hayward, the former Broncos quarterback and now-Mets outfield prospect became part-owner of the Jacksonville Icemen, an ECHL affiliate for the Winnipeg Jets, on Tuesday.

“I just love Jacksonville,” Tebow said in a statement. “I am excited to be a part of this new endeavor with the Icemen. I think it’s important to invest back in the community that has meant so much to me. I look forward to incorporating and expanding the Icemen’s involvement with our Tim Tebow Foundation and other community initiatives. “

Other owners include Rockies first baseman Daniel Murphy, who grew up in Jacksonville and attended Jacksonville University.
